How Does the Process Work?
While your products are in our studio for traditional photography, we will professionally light and scan your product so it can be used in your listing on Amazon.
Start an order and ship your products
Amazon 3D scanning is included for free when you purchase any Amazon Package.
We capture a 3D scan
While your products are in our studio for traditional photography, we’ll also perform a 3D scan and upload it to Amazon for processing.
Amazon processes your 3D scan
All 3D scans require additional processing by Amazon prior to being available for use. This processing by Amazon can take between 2-4 weeks. Once the processing is complete, you’ll be notified that the 3D content is ready to be used in your listing!
What Products Can Be Scanned?
Amazon will attempt to create a 3D model from any completed scan, but not all products can be successfully modeled from a scan.
A product is eligible for scanning if:
- It has a 3D Customer Experience (e.g. View-in-3D, View-In-Your-Room, AR Virtual-Try On).
- The Selling Partner is registered for the product’s brand in brand registry.
- Amazon does not already have a 3D model for it.
- It was not already attempted to be scanned by another Selling Partner, but rejected by Amazon.
Products with the following characteristics are less likely
to be successfully modeled:
Large amounts of dense fur
Very complex geometries or textures
Sets containing multiple objects
Multiple layers of transparency

Here are answers to some of the most common questions about Amazon 3D content and scanning
How long does it take?
While your products are being traditionally photographed with your Amazon Package, we will also perform the 3D scan. Once the scan is complete, it will be sent to Amazon for processing. This processing can take 2-4 weeks, though we have seen it complete in as little as 10 days.
When the scan is complete its status will change in the 3D porion of your Amazon Seller app, indicating it is ready for use. In the case of any error in processing, an error status explaining the issue will be displayed.
Do I need to give your studio permissions in my Seller account?
Yes, you will need to give our studio permissions to “Create 3D Models” within your Seller account. We will provide you with our studio email address for this purpose.
What happens if a scan is not successful?
In most cases, we will be able to identify products that aren’t good candidates for 3D scanning and let you know in advance. However, Amazon will attempt to model and 3D scan that is submitted successfully.
Not all 3D scans will result in a usable 3D model. If a scan fails during the scanning process or during Amazon’s internal processing that means that the product may not be a good candidate for 3D scanning.
Please note that 3D scans are a complimentary service and are separate from all other purchases. It is not possible for us to offer any refunds on other services as a result of a failed 3D scan.
