Frequently
Asked Questions
Q. How do I get started?
1)
Call us up!
We can be reached at 702-460-5104.
Most of the time you'll work directly with Robert House.
We'll discuss the scope of your project in general and
get a feel for what you're looking for. Then we'll determine
the cost of your project and fax you a quote for your
review. Pricing guidelines can be found here.
2) Send your products
Securely pack your products and send them with insurance,
if necessary.
All
products should be sent to:
ProductPhotography.com
6612 Virtuoso Court
Las Vegas, NV 89139
3) We photograph and edit your
products
When your products arrive we'll give you a call to let
you know that everything arrived safely. With the products
in our hands we'll give you a call to discuss the project
once more to go over ideas and anything else that will
help us create the very best photo. Handling
your products with the utmost care is as important to
us as providing high-quality images.
4) Approval of proofs
After we've finished your images we'll make them available
in an online gallery for you to review. Upon your approval
of the images we will complete the project and deliver
your images to you.
5) Payment
We accept payments by check and also accept all major
credit cards. Please make checks payable to ProductPhotography.com. All projects require a 50% deposit to begin
work. Please note that we must receive payment in full
before we can deliver your final images, however, you
will get the opportunity to view your proofs online
before making final payment.
6) Delivery
All of our clients receive instant web delivery of all
high resolution photos through our exclusive image gallery
at no extra cost. Unlike others who only make small
proofs availalbe online, we enable the full, high resolution
image for instant delivery. But it gets even better,
we keep these huge images on our server indefinitely,
available to you anytime you need them. This means that
every photo we've ever taken for you, project after
project, will be available through your account. No
more searching for CD's for a project from last year!
That's it! Call us today to
get started! 702-460-5104
Q.
How long will it take
to receive my photos?
Production time for most projects is about one week
from the point which we receive your products. When
scheduling your project we can give you an exact delivery
date and also work with you on whatever deadlines you
may have.
We also offer same business day, next business day,
and 2 business day expedited turnaround for tight deadlines
(see pricing for details).
High resolution web downloads are now provided free
of charge for all projects, no need to wait for a CD
in the mail!
Q.
Will you make special
sets or use props?

Absolutely! If you would like us to use a special material
for the background or use props along with your product
let us know your ideas. There will be an extra charge
depending on the amount of time involved to set-up your
own custom scene, call us for a quote.
Q. What
if my product requires extensive prep or assembly?

If you anticipate that your product will take a long
time to set-up, (like the photo above, for example)
we usually just add whatever extra time is required
at our hourly rate of $95/hr. We are happy to assemble
and prep your product for you.
Q. What are royalty free images?
All of the images we deliver are royalty free. What
this means is the images we create for you are yours
to use in your publications as many times as you like,
with as wide a distribution as you like, without ever
having to pay us royalties for their use. While this
may seem obvious, the reason we bring it up is because
with photography, by default the photograph is the copyrighted
property of the photographer. However, we release all
royalty interest in these photographs when we deliver
them to you so you never have to pay us for their use.
Q. In
what file formats will I receive my images?
Your final photos will arrive via online delivery. By
default we deliver in the following two formats (but
we can deliver in ANY format you need)
Web optimized
These images will be reduced to a resolution of your
choosing, the file size optimized, and then saved in
jpeg format for easy immediate use on your website.
High resolution
These images will be identical in appearance to the
web optimized photos, except they are full camera resolution
(4288x2848) suitable for print and archival purposes.
These are also saved in jpeg format using the highest
quality setting.
We can also provide other formats such as PSD and TIFF
for an extra fee.
Q.
What resolution will
my files be and how large can I print them?
We photograph your images at 4288x2848, about 12.4 megapixels.
Due to the fact that we only use professional SLR digital
cameras and sharp specialty lenses, our photos can withstand
being printed very large. Many of our clients use our photographs
for tradeshow graphics printed several feet across.
Q.
Do you have limitations
on product size?

Nope, our current policy is if you'll ship it, we'll shoot
it. However, many times it doesn't make sense to ship
large and heavy products. But again, if you send it to
us we'll make it look beautiful, regardless of size. Keep
in mind that due to the extra time involved in handling
large products (furniture, etc.) our regular rates may
not apply. In which case we'll work with you to create
a competitive custom quote.
Q. What
happened to Robert House Photography, are you still the
same company?
We're very much still the same company! Ever
since aquiring the domain name "ProductPhotography.com"
we have slowly been incorporating this name into the business.
In January of 2008 we've taken the final step and fully
renamed the company from Robert House Photography to ProductPhotography.com
to better reflect our business and service. ProductPhotography.com
is still owned and operated by Robert House and Robert
is still the lead Photographer. The way we do business
hasn't changed and you can still expect the same excellent
quality and service for all upcoming projects.
